As a POSIX Solutions Architect on the Vehicle OS team at Applied Intuition, you will lead the development of a universal software foundation that enables automakers to deliver next-generation vehicle intelligence and software at scale. Working across POSIX operating systems, middleware, and hardware layers, you will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment, driving the transition to a software-defined future for the automotive industry.

In this role, you will develop and maintain POSIX-based middleware and embedded software systems from the application layer down to the hardware abstraction layer. You will work across the entire stack to develop new products, features, and tools that meet strict performance, scalability, and safety requirements. Additionally, you will design efficient and deterministic solutions to a wide range of distributed and embedded engineering challenges, shipping complex, mission-critical software in fast-paced environments alongside domain experts across various fields.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in embedded software development focusing on POSIX-based operating systems such as QNX, Linux, or VxWorks. Strong experience in designing scalable, modular middleware frameworks for real-time or safety-critical systems is essential. Deep knowledge of IPC mechanisms like DDS, SOME/IP, or gRPC, OS abstraction layers, and service-based architectures is required. A proven track record of building middleware for cross-domain applications and familiarity with multi-core scheduling, process isolation, and resource management on automotive-grade SoCs are also important. Experience in bringing up software on hardware prototypes and conducting system-level debugging and profiling is expected.

Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $204,000 to $359,000 annually, along with equity and comprehensive benefits. Benefits encompass health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment.

Applied Intuition fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, emphasizing the development of cutting-edge technologies in the automotive industry. Employees have the opportunity to work alongside domain experts and contribute to mission-critical software solutions, driving the future of vehicle intelligence and software-defined vehicles.
