Systems Architect - RTOS
As a Systems Architect specializing in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) at Applied Intuition, you will play a pivotal role in developing a universal software foundation that empowers automakers to deliver next-generation vehicle intelligence at scale. Collaborating with diverse teams across real-time operating systems, middleware, and hardware layers, you will ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment, driving the transition to a software-defined future in the automotive industry.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining RTOS middleware and embedded software systems, spanning from the application layer down to the hardware abstraction layer. You will work across the entire stack to create new products, features, and tools that meet stringent real-time performance and safety requirements. Additionally, you will design efficient and deterministic solutions to a wide range of embedded engineering challenges and work hands-on with leading RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, QNX, and VxWorks.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with over 10 years of experience in embedded software development focused on POSIX-based operating systems like QNX, Linux, or VxWorks. Strong experience in designing scalable, modular middleware frameworks for real-time or safety-critical systems is essential. Deep knowledge of inter-process communication mechanisms, OS abstraction layers, and service-based architectures is required, as well as familiarity with multi-core scheduling, process isolation, and resource management on automotive-grade System on Chips (SoCs).
Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $204,000 to $359,000 annually, along with equity options and comprehensive benefits. Benefits encompass health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Please note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment.
