Archer is seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in High Voltage Power Systems (HVPS) to join our team in San Jose, California. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-reliability, safety-critical systems for our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable air mobility solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with various engineering disciplines to design and implement HVPS for our eVTOL aircraft. Your responsibilities will include conducting operational and functional analyses, defining and decomposing system requirements, developing robust system and subsystem architectures, and managing technical performance measures such as cost, weight, and performance objectives. Additionally, you will ensure full system safety compliance with appropriate regulations and coordinate with regulators and Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) on certification substantiation artifacts.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, general engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience on aerospace projects involving significant software and complex hardware is required. Proven expertise in SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761 processes or similar standards, experience with RTCA DO-178 and DO-254, and proficiency with requirements management tools such as Polarion are essential. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and exceptional critical thinking abilities are also necessary.

Archer offers a competitive compensation package, with a targeted base pay between $126,000 and $220,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
