Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineer at Peak Energy plays a pivotal role in the development and deployment of the company's battery energy storage systems. This position is integral to the ESS Engineering team, focusing on ensuring that both design and final products align with company and customer requirements. Peak Energy is at the forefront of advancing sodium-ion battery systems, aiming to set new standards in renewable energy and grid resilience.
Key responsibilities include defining and managing system and subsystem requirements, developing system-level budgets, and overseeing the verification of these requirements through test plans and analysis. The Systems Engineer will drive architectural changes, evaluate trade-offs, and lead cross-functional decision-making processes. Additionally, this role involves mentoring fellow engineers, acting as a subject matter expert for customer-facing documents, and supporting compliance efforts with standards such as UL, NFPA, and UN.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, along with over five years of experience working with high-voltage electrical systems. A strong foundation in electrical, thermal, and mechanical engineering fundamentals is essential, as is knowledge of systems engineering principles like requirement decomposition and interface management. Proficiency in analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or MATLAB, and experience with cross-functional project management are also required.
The salary range for this role is $170,000 to $200,000, with actual compensation varying based on location, experience, and skills.
