Systems Engineer, Perception - Autonomy Trucking
Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception Systems Engineer to join our Autonomy Trucking team in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and managing perception subsystem requirements, ensuring the safety and performance of autonomous driving systems at scale. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of our projects within the automotive industry.
As a Perception Systems Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include designing, monitoring, and managing subsystem-level requirements for perception systems. You will develop tools to derive perception requirements from stakeholder needs and safety cases, ensuring compliance with program-level standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with the team to establish and manage scalable verification and validation pipelines for perception, coordinate with software teams to align on requirements, and work with hardware teams on designing perception sensor sets and hardware. Providing clear goals and overseeing their timely execution will be essential to your role.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a systems engineering role within the automotive industry, focusing on system requirements ownership, system verification testing, and system requirements design. Experience working on perception systems and expertise in various sensor modalities used for autonomous driving are crucial. Proficiency in developing scripts for perception requirements frameworks and evaluation, preferably in Python (with C++ as a plus), is required. A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is necessary. Additionally, expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, along with experience in ADAS, autonomous systems, and robotics (L2++ systems), is highly desirable.
Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $118,000 to $250,000 annually, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
