May Mobility is seeking a Tech Lead for Performance Evaluation to join our team dedicated to transforming urban transportation through autonomous vehicle technology. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our autonomous systems as we expand our services nationwide. The successful candidate will lead efforts to analyze and enhance the performance of our autonomous vehicles, contributing significantly to our mission of creating safer and more accessible urban environments.

In this position, you will evaluate simulation test results to inform release and safety decisions, develop software and system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams, and lead code quality initiatives, including design and code reviews. Additionally, you will communicate complex analytical findings and model performance metrics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear visualizations and presentations, while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, along with over 10 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer with a strong focus on algorithmic design and deep learning. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis tools such as Pandas, NumPy, and Spark is essential. Demonstrated expertise in databases for data extraction, transformation, and analysis, as well as experience in building and managing large datasets and evaluations, is required. Prior experience in mentoring and supporting junior engineers is also highly valued.
