Technical Lead, Mining Autonomy Platform
Applied Intuition is seeking a Technical Lead for its Mining Autonomy Platform team, responsible for developing the foundational platform that enables autonomous mining vehicles to operate reliably in the field. This role involves working at the intersection of hardware, embedded systems, and software to build and maintain the autonomy stack powering large-scale mining operations. The position is based in Sunnyvale, California.
The Technical Lead will set the technical direction and mentor engineers within the Autonomy Platform team, defining architecture and execution priorities. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing the autonomy-to-vehicle control layer, integrating drive-by-wire systems, and developing health monitoring, diagnostics, telemetry pipelines, networking, and over-the-air deployment systems. The role also involves leading the bring-up of new mining vehicle platforms from initial hardware integration through software validation and field testing.
Candidates should have over seven years of experience in embedded systems, robotics, or autonomous vehicle software development, with a proven track record of leading technical teams or complex systems projects. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded and real-time systems development is required, along with hands-on experience in robotics actuation, such as CAN or drive-by-wire interfaces. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is also necessary.
The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $125,000 to $222,000 annually, along with equity options and comprehensive benefits.
