Technician I-III, Ops Support - Equipment Maintenance (EES)
The Technician I-III, Ops Support - Equipment Maintenance (EES) role at Rocket Lab's Albuquerque, New Mexico facility focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting semiconductor and composites manufacturing equipment. This position is integral to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment critical to Rocket Lab's production objectives. The technician will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and the broader operations team to support the company's mission of delivering responsive launch services and spacecraft manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment and manufacturing tools related to aerospace composites and semiconductor plant operations, encompassing systems such as gases, chemicals, compressed air, water, and waste streams. The technician will troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and support equipment, work with engineers and managers to resolve issues or plan for new equipment installations, locate and order necessary parts and materials, and assume a leadership role in training and supporting new technicians. Additional duties involve maintaining facility data collection requirements, identifying and resolving nonconformances, deploying the Quality Management System within the scope of work, supporting facility shutdowns and projects as scheduled, and serving as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
The position requires experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and performing maintenance on semiconductor and solar photovoltaic manufacturing equipment, as well as experience with installing and relocating such equipment. Proficiency in pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems is essential. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with experience using a respirator. For Technician II and III levels, additional years of relevant experience are necessary: 2+ years for Technician II and 5+ years for Technician III.
