Rocket Lab is seeking a Test Engineer II/Senior to join our team at the Space Structures Complex in Middle River, Maryland. This role is integral to the Neutron program, focusing on developing and operating test infrastructure for primary structures of our medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle. The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of space access by ensuring the reliability and performance of our launch systems.

The Test Engineer will be responsible for upgrading and operating test infrastructure designed for qualification and load testing of Neutron's primary structures. Key duties include developing and upgrading software for test systems, assembling and conducting checkouts of test stands, and leading problem containment and root cause investigations. Collaboration with quality teams to drive improvements and performing structured root cause analyses of in-process failures are also essential aspects of the role.

Candidates for the Test Engineer II position should possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field, along with at least 2 years of experience troubleshooting fluid components during assembly and testing. Experience with CAD systems (preferably NX), data acquisition, and a strong foundation in control theory are required. For the Senior Test Engineer level, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is expected, with significant expertise in data acquisition and analysis, including analog and digital signals, audio, and high-speed video.

Rocket Lab offers a competitive compensation package, with base salaries ranging from $100,000 to $160,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
