Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Thermofluids Engineer II to join our Neutron team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves contributing to the development of our new large rocket, Neutron, by performing thermal analysis and modeling to ensure optimal performance of launch vehicles and payloads.

Key responsibilities include conducting heat transfer analyses encompassing conduction, convection, and radiation; defining in-space and vehicle thermal environments; performing thermal analyses of propellant, gas, and tank interactions; collaborating with design and test engineers to iterate through design concepts; and supporting the processing and interpretation of ground test and flight data.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field, along with at least 2 years of industry experience, preferably in the aerospace, automotive, nuclear, or HVAC industries. A strong understanding of physical principles such as heat transfer, electronics, internal flow, and aerodynamics is essential. Proficiency with industry-standard thermal modeling packages like Thermal Desktop, THERMICA, or NX SST is also required.
