The Upfitter Support Technician serves as the on-site representative for Harbinger at upfitter facilities, responsible for managing chassis inventory, conducting pre-upfit inspections, coordinating vehicle flow, and serving as the primary technical liaison between the OEM and upfitter operations. This position ensures proper handling, storage, and condition of chassis vehicles prior to and during the upfitting process.

Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate real-time inventory records of chassis on-site, monitoring and managing chassis storage areas to ensure proper spacing and environmental protection, conducting regular inventory audits, performing thorough pre-delivery inspections on all incoming chassis, and documenting any damage or defects. The technician also monitors chassis condition during storage, ensures all relevant OEM reworks and updates are completed prior to upfit release, and performs chassis maintenance to keep units production-ready.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's degree in automotive technology or a related field preferred. ASE certifications or OEM technical certifications are highly desirable. A minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle repair, dealership service operations, or a manufacturing environment is required. Previous experience with chassis inspection, vehicle inventory management, or quality control is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostics, software programming, and repair procedures, along with knowledge of commercial vehicle systems including electrical, powertrain, chassis, and body builder integration.
