UX Researcher
Applied Intuition is seeking its first UX Researcher to join the product design team focused on Vehicle OS and in-vehicle experiences. This role offers an opportunity to own the full UX research lifecycle in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. The UX Researcher will collaborate closely with interaction designers, product managers, and engineers to define problems, conduct user studies, and enhance complex automotive workflows to be intuitive and safe.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing end-to-end user studies, such as participant selection, protocol design, moderation, and synthesis. The UX Researcher will run usability tests on interaction designs and UI flows, both in-lab and in-field, to validate concepts and inform iterations. Additionally, the role involves conducting contextual and field research with automotive customers and end users to observe workflows and capture qualitative insights.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field, along with 1–4 years of industry experience in UX research or interaction design. Essential skills include experience planning and running user research studies, strong interaction design literacy, excellent listening and note-taking abilities, and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Strong communication skills are also crucial for presenting findings and advocating for user needs to cross-functional partners.
Applied Intuition offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a base salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, and benefits such as health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage.
