Validation Engineer
Applied Intuition is seeking a skilled Validation Engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, you will be responsible for validating system requirements, developing and executing test cases, and collaborating closely with our systems engineering and development teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to tackle challenging engineering problems while upholding our high standards for safety and product quality.
As a Validation Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and executing test cases derived from system requirements using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches, lab cars, and manual vehicle testing. You will perform system and integration testing across key automotive subsystems, such as infotainment, telematics, cameras, sensors, and in-vehicle networking. Additionally, you will set up, configure, and maintain HIL test environments to validate system functionality and performance, analyze test failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to efficiently debug and resolve issues. Your role will also involve working closely with OEM partners to support the integration of OEM functions and clearly communicate test results, risks, and issues. Conducting hands-on validation testing on vehicles and prototypes to ensure all functional and safety requirements are met, as well as developing and maintaining Python-based test automation scripts to improve test coverage, repeatability, and efficiency, are also key aspects of this position.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in validation engineering within the automotive, embedded systems, or electronics industries. Proficiency with HIL systems and experience in validating automotive systems, such as infotainment, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), telematics, sensors, and networking, are essential. Experience coding in Python (preferred) or another programming language for test automation and script development is required. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, root cause, and resolve system-level failures, are crucial. Additionally, the ability to document test procedures, results, and progress clearly and accurately, including issue tracking and test failure analysis, is necessary. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $140,000 to $220,000 annually, along with equity and comprehensive benefits. Benefits encompass health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Please note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment.
