Vehicle Integration Technician - Avionics

Rocket Lab is seeking a Vehicle Integration Technician specializing in avionics to join our Electron team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves installing avionic and mechanical components, wiring harnesses, and high-voltage batteries onto the Electron launch vehicle. The Integration team comprises technicians with both avionics and mechanical expertise, working collaboratively to deliver reliable rockets to the launch pad.

Key responsibilities include precision assembly of avionic and mechanical components, performing high-precision crimping, soldering, and harness termination tasks, and ensuring adherence to exacting standards, including cleanliness for oxygen service. The technician will also be responsible for inspecting assemblies to a high workmanship standard and manufacturing components accordingly.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant trade qualification and demonstrate over four years of industry experience. Proficiency in precision avionic and mechanical assembly, high-precision crimping, soldering, and harness termination is essential. A sound understanding of standard industry ESD practices and the ability to work to exacting standards are also required.
