Archer is seeking a Vehicle Performance Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, we are dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft aimed at advancing sustainable air mobility. Our mission is to design, manufacture, and operate aircraft capable of carrying four passengers with minimal noise, revolutionizing urban transportation.

In this role, you will perform vehicle-level trade study analyses and define and validate vehicle performance requirements. Your responsibilities will include characterizing aircraft performance, conducting simulations to support Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), analyzing flight test data to identify model errors, and updating vehicle physics models. Additionally, you will support the development of flight training devices and pilot-in-the-loop simulator physics models, and collaborate with internal and external suppliers to integrate their systems into comprehensive vehicle simulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, with a Master's or PhD highly desirable. A minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace vehicle performance and simulation at a full-vehicle level is required. Expertise in modeling and numerical optimization techniques, particularly in the context of aerodynamic vehicles, is essential. Proficiency in developing vehicle analysis tools and simulations using Python and MATLAB, along with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills, is also necessary. Experience in a fast-paced design environment is preferred.

We offer a competitive base salary ranging from $126,700 to $164,200, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
