Anduril Industries is seeking a Vehicle Systems Architect to join its Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team within the Tactical Recon & Strike division. The PES team focuses on developing small aerial drones and associated equipment, transforming conceptual designs into operational systems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge defense technology in a collaborative environment.

The Vehicle Systems Architect will be responsible for conceptualizing system architectures for vehicle upgrades and enhancements, designing small drones from initial sizing to prototyping, and developing system design plans for new UAV products. The role involves managing engineering efforts across disciplines, drafting test plans for critical subsystems, and supporting vehicle-level acceptance testing. Additionally, the architect will develop interface controls for hardware, software, and electrical integration of complex payloads, lead vehicle data analysis to identify performance trends, and conduct hands-on UAV testing, which may require occasional travel.

Candidates should possess 7-10 years of industry experience, including system architecture, and be familiar with systems engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, software development, and control theory. Demonstrated experience in conceptual design and vehicle system architecture, a proven track record from design to functional hardware, and hands-on prototyping of complex robotic or aircraft systems are essential. Strong organizational and communication skills, a commitment to fostering a collaborative culture, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance are also required.

Preferred qualifications include experience in developing electromechanical system models, hands-on manufacturing or flight testing, design and software engineering, and an understanding of aerodynamics, avionics, and flight systems.

Anduril offers a competitive salary range of $146,000 to $220,000, along with comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans, income protection, generous time off, family planning support, mental health resources, professional development reimbursement, commuter benefits, relocation assistance, and retirement savings plans. The company fosters a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture, providing growth opportunities in the rapidly evolving defense technology sector.
