Account Executive
As an Account Executive at Compass, you will be a key member of the Strategic Growth team, responsible for driving new revenue by recruiting top residential real estate agents to join Compass. This role is fully onsite, based in one of our 18 Chicagoland offices, and involves significant in-person interactions with clients and prospects in the field. Compass, founded in 2012, is revolutionizing the real estate industry with its end-to-end platform that empowers agents to deliver exceptional service to their clients.
In this quota-carrying role, you will identify and engage top-producing agents, effectively communicating the Compass value proposition, which includes our technology, marketing, culture, and growth opportunities. You will guide agents through the decision-making process, addressing their unique needs and demonstrating how transitioning to Compass can enhance their business and client service. The sales cycle typically averages 30 days, with deal sizes ranging from $200,000 to over $3 million.
The ideal candidate holds a B.A. or B.S. degree and possesses at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to solve complex problems independently are essential. Excellent communication skills are required to lead client meetings and presentations effectively. Candidates should be highly organized, capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously, and have a proven track record of excellence in strategic and operational roles.
The base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000 annually, with a potential bonus target of $30,000 to $60,000, and additional performance-based incentives. Restricted stock units may also be included as part of the compensation package.
