Accounts Payable Specialist
Kapitus is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing accounting team. This role requires a detailed and organized individual capable of managing multiple accounting and administrative projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, energetic, and collaborative environment.
The Accounts Payable Specialist will oversee the entire accounts payable function, including coding, processing, and reporting through an electronic bill-paying system on a weekly basis. Responsibilities include recording and reviewing invoices for proper documentation and approval prior to payment, preparing wire transfers via online banking portals, processing credit card bills and expense reports, daily cash recording in the general ledger, reconciling cash accounts to bank statements, preparing analyses of cash receipts and disbursements, assisting with cash forecasts based on historical trends, preparing Form 1099s for vendors, and supporting monthly close activities and special projects as needed.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, and have a minimum of three years of experience in accounts payable or bookkeeping. Proficiency in computer skills is essential, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel being advantageous. Familiarity with electronic bill-paying systems, such as Mineraltree, and accounting software like Sage Intacct is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational efficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently are expected. Self-motivation, reliability, analytical aptitude, and interpersonal skills are also important. Experience in the financial services sector is a plus but not mandatory.
Kapitus offers a competitive base salary ranging from $48,400 to $77,700, with eligibility for annual incentive compensation up to 10%.
