Architecture Director
The Architecture Director at Cohere Health is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and scaling platform-level architectures within healthcare and regulated environments. This role involves guiding the evolution of cloud-native, AI-enabled platforms to ensure long-term scalability, interoperability, and innovation. The position is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, and focuses on aligning offshore platform development with the company's global product strategy.
Key responsibilities include defining the strategic architectural roadmap for core platform services, enabling product teams to build with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind. The Architecture Director provides senior-level architectural direction, offers code-level guidance, and conducts in-depth reviews of platform components. Additionally, the role involves mentoring engineering leads on architectural trade-offs and promoting technical excellence through documentation, design reviews, and knowledge sharing. Ensuring regulatory compliance (HIPAA, FHIR, HL7) and embedding security principles into platform design are also critical aspects of the role.
Candidates must have over 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering and architecture, including senior-level platform design in cloud-native environments. A proven track record in designing distributed, event-driven systems using technologies like Kafka, microservices, and REST/GraphQL APIs is essential. Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, with hands-on experience deploying containerized applications (ECS, Fargate, EKS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CDK), is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across geographies and time zones are also necessary.
