Chime is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to lead its Privacy & Security team. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including marketing, security, engineering, product, data, and member support, to manage Chime's privacy program in compliance with applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations. Additionally, the Assistant General Counsel will play a key role in advancing Chime's Artificial Intelligence governance program.

Key responsibilities include advising teams on privacy laws, with a particular emphasis on financial privacy, and leading efforts to mature Chime's privacy program to meet evolving regulatory expectations. The role also involves developing and managing privacy impact assessments, ensuring that privacy by design is embedded in all aspects of Chime's operations, and collaborating with product counsel on privacy aspects of product design. Furthermore, the Assistant General Counsel will develop and conduct privacy trainings, stay abreast of regulatory and industry trends, maintain and update privacy and security policies, and support the security team in scenario planning and incident reporting.

The ideal candidate will have over eight years of privacy experience, including at least three years in-house, with a focus on building privacy programs. A willingness to take on new responsibilities as Chime grows, experience advising security teams on best practices, and a proven track record of leading teams are essential. The candidate should also possess the ability to translate legal and regulatory expectations into actionable guidance, craft privacy policies and procedures, manage shifting priorities, and demonstrate outstanding professional judgment and communication skills. Certifications such as CIPP or CIPM are preferred.

Chime offers a competitive base salary ranging from $193,860 to $274,700, depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
