The Automotive Service Technician role is integral to the service department, focusing on diagnosing and repairing operational issues across various makes and models, typically ranging from 3 to 10 years old.
The primary responsibilities include maintaining vehicle functionality by addressing operator complaints, conducting thorough inspections, and diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures promptly. Technicians are expected to handle multiple system issues, such as electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, and steering malfunctions, and perform necessary part replacements. Utilizing standard diagnostic tools and shop software, they maintain accurate vehicle records and ensure shop equipment operates efficiently through regular maintenance and troubleshooting.
Candidates should possess at least 3 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing used vehicles within a commercial service facility, including experience with dispatcher systems and parts ordering. While ASE certifications are preferred, a proven track record of dependable diagnostic capability is essential, with references required. Applicants must provide their own tools, be capable of customer interaction when necessary, and hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record. The role requires working in a minimally climate-controlled facility and involves the physical demands typical of a heavy line technician position.
Eligible employees are offered benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, vacation time, opportunities for advancement, and ongoing training.
