The Business Development Executive, Small Medium Business at PitchBook Data is responsible for driving new business growth by managing prospects through the sales cycle and acquiring new clients. This role involves working closely with Sales Development Representatives and independently prospecting to build a robust sales pipeline. Key responsibilities include consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals, building a pipeline of high-quality opportunities across various client types, and conducting product demonstrations to showcase the value of the PitchBook Platform. The executive will act as a consultant to prospects, understanding their needs and business priorities, and guiding them through needs analysis and discovery sessions to qualify leads and drive new opportunities. Collaboration with client development and account management teams is essential to ensure successful client relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, finance, or related fields, and have over three years of successful sales and business development experience, ideally with a technology product. Experience managing opportunities using Salesforce or similar CRM systems is required, along with strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to close leads effectively. An interest in financial markets, particularly private equity and venture capital, is beneficial. The role demands self-motivation, persistence, goal orientation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
