Business Development Rep Associate
Square is seeking high-energy, motivated professionals with sound business insight and natural sales instincts to join our Sales Development organization. As a Business Development Representative Associate, you will be part of our Restaurant or Generalist team, laying the foundation for our sales efforts by engaging prospective sellers and promoting the value of Square's ecosystem. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to Square's mission of economic empowerment by helping businesses grow and succeed.
In this position, you will manage a diverse pipeline of businesses, prioritizing outreach to accelerate sales cycles. Your day-to-day activities will include reaching out to businesses through cold calling, emailing, and social selling at scale. By identifying challenges faced by businesses, you will provide targeted solutions that demonstrate how Square can help, thereby promoting urgency through a solutions-based sales approach. Additionally, you will document and track qualified opportunities to pass onto the Account Executive team, ensuring a seamless transition and continued support for the merchants.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to grow their career in sales, possessing a BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. Key attributes include personal leadership, authenticity, teamwork, energy richness, and curiosity. Enthusiasm for developing sales skills through cold calling and comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential. Residency within 50 miles of the posted office location is required to facilitate collaboration and engagement with the team.
Block offers a market-based approach to compensation, with pay varying depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Amounts listed above include target variable compensation.
