The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Compass plays a pivotal role within the Strategic Growth team, which serves as the company's primary driver for market expansion. This position is based in Compass's New York City (Union Square) office and requires full on-site presence. Compass, established in 2012, is transforming the real estate industry by providing an end-to-end platform that enables residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to their clients.

In this role, the BDR is responsible for generating new business opportunities to build the sales pipeline through both inbound and outbound efforts. Key activities include direct outreach to prospective agents via cold calls, texts, emails, integrated marketing campaigns, and LinkedIn campaigns. The BDR articulates Compass's value proposition, handles objections to create qualified opportunities, and collaborates closely with Strategic Growth Managers and Team Leaders to develop successful prospecting strategies. Maintaining accurate CRM data, driving engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications, and analyzing market opportunities are also essential responsibilities.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and have at least 2 years of relevant experience with a history of strong performance in roles such as Sales Development Representative, Customer Success/Service, Direct Sales, or Account Management. Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to exercise judgment and solve problems independently are crucial. Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a track record of excellence across strategic and operational responsibilities are also required.

The base pay range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and restricted stock units as part of the compensation package. Additional benefits include participation in incentive programs, paid vacation, holidays, sick time, parental leave, and recharge leave. Comprehensive medical, tele-health, dental, and vision benefits are provided, along with a 401(k) plan, flexible spending accounts, commuter program, life and disability insurance, and various support programs for employees and their families.

Compass fosters a collaborative and energetic culture grounded in its Entrepreneurship Principles and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, growth, and mobility. The company offers competitive compensation packages, robust benefits, and professional growth opportunities aimed at enhancing employees' lives and careers.
