Claims Manager - Professional Liability
As a Claims Manager specializing in Professional Liability at Counterpart, you will oversee a diverse caseload of professional liability claims, ensuring efficient and fair resolutions that align with the company's values. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams to enhance claims management processes and systems, contributing to the company's mission of providing world-class service through proactive risk assessment and management.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough investigations into coverage, liability, and damages for each assigned claim, actively managing claims to achieve timely and cost-effective resolutions, and building productive relationships with policyholders, brokers, carrier partners, and underwriters. Additionally, you will direct and monitor assignments to experts and outside counsel, ensuring they meet or exceed service standards, and support data collection efforts by accurately capturing critical claim details in the company's systems.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in litigating or managing professional liability claims. A bachelor's degree is required, while a law degree (J.D.) and professional designations such as RPLU or AIC are highly preferred. Candidates must hold all required state claim adjuster licenses or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with exceptional time management, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, are essential. Proficiency in operating within a paperless claims environment and familiarity with Google Workplace are advantageous.
Counterpart offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000, determined by factors such as market data, location, internal equity, and experience.
