Commercial & Scientific Analyst/Lead
KoBold Metals is seeking a Commercial & Scientific Analyst/Lead to join our remote Commercial Analytics team. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of 5-7 professionals across North America and Europe to tackle complex problems, develop financial and operational models, and provide strategic recommendations to our executive leadership. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic company at the forefront of mineral exploration technology.
As a Commercial & Scientific Analyst/Lead, your primary responsibilities will include aggregating and conducting research to build forecasts and models related to commodity markets, KoBold operations, and mine development. You will work closely with the Commercial Analytics and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to address strategic questions from leadership, prepare materials for the Board of Directors and investors, and collaborate with various functions to enhance operational efficiency through first-principles approaches. Additionally, you will conduct analytics for critical workstreams in mine development and exploration, build and maintain financial models assessing project economics, and support the Commercial Analytics team on various analytical assignments.
The ideal candidate will have a background in a STEM discipline or economics, with a preference for fields such as physics, chemistry, astronomy/astrophysics, or mathematics. A minimum of one year of experience in technology, natural resources, finance, or professional services is required. Proficiency in Python or other scientific computing languages and/or financial modeling is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary, along with a demonstrated ability to think from first principles regarding science, technology, economics, and business.
KoBold Metals offers a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $160,000 for this full-time, exempt position. As a remote-first workplace, we are open to candidates residing anywhere in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom. All candidates must be authorized to work legally in one of these countries.
