Compliance Coordinator
Nabis is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Coordinator to ensure seamless communication and operational alignment between our local distribution teams, partner brands, and internal compliance leadership. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of Nabis’ regulatory operations, overseeing testing workflows, and collaborating to define and teach best practices that will pave the way for scaling Nabis’ central distribution offering. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-driven, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary compliance liaison between local operations and internal compliance leadership, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange. The Compliance Coordinator will oversee local testing responsibilities, manage communication between Nabis, licensed laboratory partners, and brand representatives, and act as the local point person for central distribution coordination. Additionally, the role involves maintaining METRC license integrity by monitoring for rejected packages, addressing discrepancies, and resolving compliance red flags in real time. The individual will support the rollout and implementation of new standard operating procedures related to reverse fulfillment and product processing workflows, and communicate compliance expectations clearly to local staff to ensure consistent adherence to company protocols and state regulations. Proactively identifying areas of compliance risk and collaborating with leadership to implement preventive and corrective actions is also essential.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in cannabis operations, regulatory compliance, or distribution. Strong familiarity with METRC and cannabis compliance tracking systems is required, along with knowledge of California cannabis regulations and the operational implications of distribution compliance. Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, third-party vendors, and regulatory partners is essential. The candidate should be highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and reporting. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve compliance discrepancies quickly and professionally, comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment, excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and professional communication are also required. The ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities and new procedures, proficiency in Google Workspace, and comfort learning new software platforms are necessary. Candidates must be over 21 years of age and eligible to work in the United States. Cannabis industry experience is strongly preferred.
