Construction Project Manager
As a Construction Project Manager at AirTrunk, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction phases of data center facilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Development team, reporting to the Senior Project Manager or Project Director based in Tokyo, and play a pivotal role in managing various projects within the campus.
Your key responsibilities will include leading the construction team to establish and maintain a culture that promotes safety to the highest standards, ensuring all installations are of the utmost quality and defect-free at handover stage, and managing the overall project program to adhere to key contract milestones and deadlines. Additionally, you will support the team with reviewing vendor claims, including payment claims, invoices, variations, and time-related claims, and coordinate with various project-level stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal team members, to ensure the successful delivery of all project phases.
To be successful in this role, you should have over 5 years of construction experience in Japan, particularly with large-scale projects exceeding 30,000 m². A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, or project/construction management is preferred. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities in both Japanese and English are essential. Experience working for a data center developer or previous hyperscale or cloud provider in the APAC market is advantageous. You should be exceptionally flexible, forward-thinking, results-focused, and possess a "get things done" approach.
