Contracts Specialist
Aypa Power, a Blackstone portfolio company, is seeking a Contracts Specialist to support the development, growth, and execution of its renewables procurement platform, focusing on energy storage and solar hybrid technologies. This role involves interfacing with vendors, deal scoping, and providing overall contracting support to ensure projects receive the appropriate equipment and services.
Key responsibilities include incorporating Aypa's standard terms and exhibits into battery and solar PV supply, service, and EPC contracts; collaborating with internal and external counsel to progress deals to completion; maintaining contracting dashboards and trackers; and working with legal, finance, engineering, and commercial teams to structure optimal contract scopes. The Contracts Specialist will also assist in creating summaries of key contractual terms for executive review and provide input into the company's business plan and development strategy.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in construction/project management, contract management, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience in utility-scale renewables contracting. Exceptional organizational skills, familiarity with renewables procurement and construction, and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are essential. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, working well under pressure, and adjusting to changing priorities.

The position is hybrid, with a preference for candidates located in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate, and requires the ability to work in the United States. Travel of 10-15% is expected for direct vendor negotiations and industry trade shows.
