Senior Transmission Planning Engineer
Aypa Power is seeking a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will perform detailed transmission system modeling and powerflow studies to support our growing portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable, and hybrid projects. Your analyses will inform project development and acquisition strategies, and you will collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members to present your findings.
Key responsibilities include providing transmission analytical support, performing powerflow analyses to assess interconnection risks and costs, evaluating the feasibility of new or acquired projects, developing cost estimates for interconnection facilities, and preparing comprehensive reports. Additionally, you will be involved in creating and validating powerflow models and streamlining processes to enhance workflow efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience with powerflow analysis tools such as TARA, PSSE, or PSLF, and hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Experience in electric markets like CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, or NYISO, along with knowledge of NERC planning standards, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java, and familiarity with data visualization tools such as ArcGIS or PowerBI, are desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines are also important.
