Director, Origination
The Director of Origination at Aypa Power will be a key member of the Commercial Team, focusing on marketing the company's Hybrid and Storage portfolio. Aypa Power, a Blackstone portfolio company, is a leading developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects across North America. With over 22 GW of projects in development and 33 projects in operation or construction, Aypa is committed to responsibly decarbonizing the grid and enhancing energy market efficiency.
In this role, the Director will engage directly with prospective and existing customers, facilitating introductory meetings, understanding project fit, and managing ongoing follow-ups. They will lead the development of RFP responses and commercial proposals, coordinate internal inputs, and translate project attributes into clear, customer-focused value propositions. Additionally, the Director will support transaction structuring and execution, contribute insights on pricing, risk allocation, credit terms, and contract mechanics, and help maintain and advance the origination pipeline by tracking customer opportunities and managing marketing systems.
The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in a commercial capacity within the energy industry. A working knowledge of U.S. power markets, including ISO, RTO, and bilateral energy markets, is essential. Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment are also required. A detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a questioning attitude is highly valued.

The position is hybrid, with a preference for candidates located in Austin, TX, or those willing to relocate; remote work will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
