Corporate Counsel, Commercial

Axon is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its contracts and corporate team, supporting global sales teams in structuring and negotiating complex transactions. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including Sales, Supply Chain, Software and Hardware Engineering, Product, and IT, to facilitate the rapid scaling of the business. The position is available in Scottsdale, AZ; Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA; or New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work schedule.

Key responsibilities include providing legal advice on transactional matters related to the sale of Axon's public safety technology products, such as structuring, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for goods, services, and SaaS solutions. The Corporate Counsel will also supervise Contracts Managers, set and enforce acceptable risk levels, and lead the development and implementation of contract lifecycle management systems. Additional duties involve drafting and maintaining template contract language, risk analyses, policies, and procedures, as well as offering legal guidance on regulatory compliance and industry standards.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in-house, negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts. Proficiency in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a high volume of contracts for SaaS, hardware, and services is essential. Experience with intellectual property licensing and ownership agreements, international agreements, and contract lifecycle processes is also required. A Juris Doctor (J.D.) and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar are mandatory. Familiarity with tools such as Generative AI, Salesforce, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, and Microsoft Office is preferred.

The starting base pay for this role ranges from $112,500 to $180,000 USD, depending on geographic location and other factors.
