Senior Embedded Application Software Engineer II
Axon is seeking a Senior Embedded Application Software Engineer II to join our mission-driven team dedicated to protecting life through innovative technology solutions. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the architecture and development of high-stability, high-performance device software that is critical to our product offerings. You will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to ensure our solutions effectively address customer needs.
As a senior engineer, your primary responsibilities will include leading engineering architecture design reviews and spearheading key initiatives within the Connected Devices team. You will set a high technical standard through code and architecture design reviews, mentor other engineers—including senior engineers—and work across teams to create integrated solutions that delight our customers. Additionally, you will contribute to improving our engineering processes, including long-term planning, sprint planning, and stand-ups, while building software that meets our high standards for stability and latency in this mission-critical space.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional software development experience in C++, Go, Rust, or other systems programming languages, along with extensive experience writing unit, integration, and system-level tests. You should have at least 5 years of experience mentoring junior team members or leading small teams. A strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, run-time analysis, object-oriented design, and code quality verification, is essential. Experience with Embedded Linux development and/or RTOS is also required.

The starting base pay for this role ranges from $148,500 to $237,600, depending on various factors such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and geographic market.
