Criminal Defense Paralegal
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal to join our Los Angeles, CA office. This role is integral to our legal team, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional legal services in criminal defense. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client communication.
Key responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with clients to provide timely case updates, efficiently managing attorney schedules for meetings and court appearances, and preparing legal documents and correspondence for trial preparation. The paralegal will also handle daily court calendars, request discovery from prosecuting offices, assist with motion drafting, and prepare and manage subpoenas. Additional duties involve entering revocation petitions, preparing files for court, requesting comprehensive criminal history documentation, scheduling appointments for attorneys with prosecutors, and communicating with law enforcement and other relevant parties.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience in criminal defense, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and possess prior experience as a paralegal or in a related legal field. Proficiency with case management software and experience with federal criminal matters are also required.
