Data Center Operations Technician

As a Data Center Operations Technician at xAI, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and efficiency of our server and network infrastructure within our data centers. This role is critical to ensuring optimal performance and reliability, directly supporting xAI's mission to advance artificial intelligence systems that aid humanity in understanding the universe.

Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting and monitoring servers, diagnosing and repairing issues, and performing rack and stack operations during data center build-outs. You will also maintain network infrastructure by conducting gear swaps, troubleshooting fiber links, and managing data center operations tickets through Jira. Additionally, you will handle the installation of racks, servers, and switches, as well as manage warehouse inventory and asset management using internal applications.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working with server, storage, compute, and network hardware, along with strong Linux skills. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Availability for night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) is essential, as the facility operates 24/7. Preferred qualifications include experience leading data center infrastructure projects, structured cabling, and power and cooling concepts within a data center environment.
