IT Systems Engineer
xAI is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team in Palo Alto, California. The company is dedicated to developing AI systems that accurately understand the universe and assist humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. In this role, the IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for building, deploying, and managing internal Windows and Linux infrastructure. Key responsibilities include managing complex application stacks, providing technical support, deploying VMware technologies, automating configurations with Puppet Enterprise, and collaborating with other engineering teams and third-party vendors to implement scalable solutions. The role also involves ensuring compliance by working with internal audit and compliance teams, developing standard operating procedures, participating in a 24/7 on-call support rotation, and proactively ensuring high levels of system availability and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of infrastructure management and automation, with 3 to 5 years of experience in systems engineering for corporate infrastructure, managing large-scale Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization at scale, configuration management, and managing scalable storage solutions, preferably NetApp. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl, and experience with VMware services, including VMware data center virtualization and VMware Horizon, are also required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication abilities, are essential.
The compensation for this position ranges from $162,000 to $226,000 annually.
