Data Engineer, Business Solutions Co-Op
Audax Group is seeking a dynamic and motivated Data Engineer Co-Op to join our Business Solutions team in Boston, MA. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with our Senior Data Engineer, gaining hands-on experience in data engineering, data governance, and data management within a leading alternative investment management firm.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and scaling Audax's data ecosystem. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity, and contributing to the expansion of the company's data warehouse. Additionally, the role involves assisting with the implementation of data governance policies, including data cataloging and data lineage, as well as providing data validation and quality assessments to identify and resolve data anomalies.
Candidates should be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in SQL and Python is required, with familiarity in Java considered a plus. Experience with on-premise and cloud-based databases, designing optimal data schemas, and implementing best practices in data governance is also desirable. Previous co-op or full-time experience in a related field, as well as experience with Alteryx and its advanced capabilities, are advantageous. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization are required.
This is a hybrid position based in Boston, MA, with an in-office requirement of three days per week. The co-op term runs from July 2026 to December 2026. The base salary range for this position is $28.00 to $34.00 per hour, with potential eligibility for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on performance. Compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
