Data Governance Engineer
Chime is seeking a Data Governance Engineer to join its Data Governance function, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and effective management of the company's data assets. This team is dedicated to establishing frameworks that not only meet compliance requirements but also enable confident decision-making across the organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and tools focused on data quality, developer enablement, certified datasets, and governance automation. A key aspect of your work will involve building trust signals and scorecards to help data consumers quickly assess and act on the reliability of Chime's data. This position requires hands-on engineering, including writing production-quality code to automate governance and data quality processes using tools like Terraform and Python.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in data engineering, data governance, or a related field, with practical expertise in data classification, cataloging, quality assurance, and trust frameworks. Strong engineering skills are essential for designing and implementing data governance and quality processes. Additionally, experience with AI tooling and its application in automating governance workflows is highly desirable.
The base salary for this role ranges from $160,000 to $221,000, depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and comprehensive benefits.
