Data Licensing Counsel
The Data Licensing Counsel position at Prove is a specialized legal role focused on data licensing within a company at the forefront of identity verification and digital trust solutions. As part of Prove’s legal team, the Counsel will advise on complex data licensing, data use, and privacy matters in a fast-paced technology-driven environment. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders in a company that works with leading financial institutions and enterprises to enable secure digital transactions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a range of data-related agreements such as data licenses, data vendor agreements, and data protection addenda. The Counsel will also provide legal advice regarding data usage rights, data sharing, transfers and compliance with privacy laws and regulations. Engaging cross-functionally with product, technology, compliance, and sales teams is a critical part of this position, ensuring that all data-driven business initiatives align with legal standards and company policy.
Ideal candidates will have a Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice law, along with several years of experience working on technology and data licensing agreements. Deep knowledge of data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA is required, as well as expertise in negotiating complex agreements with external vendors and clients. Strong communication, analytical skills, and a collaborative approach are essential for success in this multifaceted legal environment.
