Data Science Manager
Cohere Health is seeking a technically proficient Data Science Manager to lead and drive data science initiatives within the organization. This hands-on leadership role involves designing and architecting complex data solutions, streamlining workflows, and directly contributing to team deliverables. The Data Science Manager will be responsible for building and architecting end-to-end natural language processing (NLP), data science, and machine learning solutions using tools such as Python, SQL, and AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, Glue, SNS, SQS, Sagemaker, EMR, and Athena. The role requires the ability to design and deploy scalable, production-ready machine learning pipelines and intelligent systems. Additionally, the manager will partner with senior leadership to define the organization’s data strategy, develop and enforce data governance frameworks, and foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, analytics, and business teams.
Candidates must have at least 7 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, data engineering, or related technical disciplines, along with proven experience in managing or leading technical teams with a strong emphasis on mentoring and delivery. A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, proficiency in Git for version control, and hands-on experience using JIRA (or similar tools) for agile workflow management are essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a self-motivated and proactive attitude, are also required.
