Digital Designer, Creative Localisation (12 Month Contract)

Canva is seeking a Digital Designer for a 12-month contract to join the Creative Localisation team, focusing on European and Latin American markets. This role is based in Sydney, Australia, and involves working up to 40 hours per week. The position aims to bridge global creative efforts with local cultural nuances, ensuring Canva's content resonates authentically with diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities include designing and localising visual assets for SEO landing pages, such as hero images, UI mockups, feature illustrations, and lifestyle imagery. The designer will create and adapt assets for campaigns, product launches, and various marketing platforms across regions. Collaborating with external agencies and vendors to scale asset production, managing feedback loops, and ensuring the quality of localised assets are also integral parts of the role.

The ideal candidate is a native or fluent speaker in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, or German, with proven experience in digital design, marketing, or campaign creative. A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality visual design across digital platforms is essential. Understanding regional visual cultures, experience designing for SEO or performance-driven surfaces, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across time zones are crucial. Familiarity with motion or video design workflows and exposure to localisation or international content adaptation are advantageous.
