Director of Data

Nabis is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Data to lead and expand our nascent Data Team. This critical hybrid role requires a deep technical expert who can function as an individual contributor while setting the strategic vision for the department's data capabilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Director of Data will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business strategy and product development.

Key responsibilities include executing complex end-to-end data science projects, such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analysis. The role involves partnering with Engineering and IT to define requirements for, and where necessary, personally build and maintain robust data pipelines, data marts, and analytics tools. Establishing and enforcing technical best practices, code review standards, and documentation guidelines to ensure the reliability and reproducibility of all data products is also essential.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive experience in Data Science, Data Analysis, or a related quantitative field. Expert proficiency in SQL and a programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python or R) is required. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing statistical models, machine learning models, and large-scale data analyses is essential. Familiarity with modern data warehousing and ETL concepts (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, DBT) and strong experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) are also necessary.

Compensation for this role starts at $150,000, along with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.
