Director of Field Sales, Central Region
Square is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the Director of Field Sales for the Central Region. In this pivotal role, you will oversee Sales Managers and Territory Account Executives dedicated to acquiring and expanding small and midsize businesses across key Central markets. As the Director of Field Sales, you will be responsible for refining territory models, optimizing go-to-market strategies, and instilling operational discipline to drive predictable, data-backed growth. Your leadership will foster a culture of performance, accountability, and competitiveness, motivating teams to exceed targets and celebrate excellence. Engaging directly in the field, you will co-sell, coach, and demonstrate product fluency, ensuring your teams connect Square's ecosystem capabilities to seller outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of sales experience, including at least 5 years leading regional or field sales teams in a high-growth SaaS, fintech, or payments environment. A proven track record of exceeding regional revenue and productivity goals is essential, along with strong product acumen and the ability to position complex solutions across multiple product lines. Operational expertise in forecasting, pipeline management, and KPI tracking, coupled with excellent communication skills and executive presence, are also required.
Compensation for this role is competitive and includes target variable compensation. Block takes a market-based approach to pay, with variations depending on location. U.S. locations are categorized into zones based on a cost of labor index, and the successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
