Director of Research
Compass is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Director of Research to join our New Development team in South Florida. This role is critical in providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making for our owner/developer clients, leadership, and project management teams. The ideal candidate possesses a deep knowledge of the South Florida market, strong analytical skills, a passion for real estate, and the ability to manage an Analyst, transforming raw data from various sources into actionable research for our stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include establishing a strong point of view by possessing a deep understanding of real estate submarkets in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. The Director will gather and analyze data from various public and private sources, oversee an Analyst in maintaining databases for efficient data management, and ensure data accuracy through quality control procedures. Additionally, the role involves conducting comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, analyzing competitor strategies, and preparing reports and presentations based on research findings.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in research and analysis within the South Florida market and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Real Estate, Finance, Political Science, Computer Science, or Statistics. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (with a heavy emphasis on Excel), Google Sheets, data transformation, and ETL processes is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to present research findings to internal teams and clients are essential.
