Director of Sales
As Marqeta's Director of Sales (Financial Services), you will lead a team dedicated to developing innovative financial products for Fortune 1000 organizations. Your team will also manage and expand a portfolio of Marqeta's largest and most strategic customers. Marqeta collaborates with leading companies across North America to provide modern card issuing and processing solutions that empower customers to manage their finances and build economic stability.
In this role, you will oversee a team of over five Account Executives and Account Managers targeting Fortune 1000 clients across key verticals. Your responsibilities include developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets, building strong relationships with key decision-makers in enterprise organizations, and collaborating with internal teams such as marketing, product, and customer success to align on customer needs and ensure satisfaction. Additionally, you will maintain a deep understanding of Marqeta's solutions, provide accurate sales forecasts, and stay informed on industry trends to refine sales strategies.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in enterprise technology sales and account management within a payments organization, including more than five years of team management with a proven track record of developing high-performing Account Executives and Account Managers. Experience in selling complex, multi-product technology platform solutions to enterprise customers is essential, along with industry expertise in payments, retail, fintech, and banking. A demonstrated history of delivering year-over-year new logo bookings and successfully expanding in-year revenue is also required.
Marqeta offers a flexible work environment, allowing you to choose between remote work within the United States or working from our offices in Oakland, CA, or New York City. Compensation is competitive and varies based on location, with On Target Earnings (OTE) ranging from $295,400 to $434,300.
