Economist, Economics & Research Group
Compass is seeking an Economist to join its Economics & Research Group within the Data & Analytics organization. This role involves collaborating with the Chief Economist and the analytics team to produce research and content that translate macroeconomic trends into actionable insights for agents, consumers, and the media.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and synthesizing macroeconomic trends such as Federal Reserve policy, labor markets, consumer sentiment, inflation, and interest rates, and assessing their implications for residential real estate markets. The Economist will produce regional and local market analyses, contribute research on topics like luxury market dynamics and the impact of AI on housing demand, and develop data visualizations and presentations for various stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Real Estate, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. A strong understanding of macroeconomics, housing markets, mortgage finance, and consumer economics is essential. Excellent communication skills are required to explain complex economic concepts to non-expert audiences, along with experience in producing charts and graphics for research or media.
The base salary for this position ranges from $162,500 to $180,500 annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses and restricted stock units, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
