Electrical Commodity Manager
As an Electrical Commodity Manager at Axon, you will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives across critical material categories, including electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical components used in Axon's product lines. This role is pivotal in identifying and driving high-impact initiatives that reduce costs, mitigate risks, improve quality, and support the company's long-term growth objectives. Axon is a mission-driven company dedicated to protecting life through innovative public safety technologies, including TASER energy weapons, body-worn cameras, and cloud-based software solutions.
In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and recommending sourcing projects for both existing and emerging products that deliver measurable business outcomes. Your duties will include leading supplier selection processes, establishing and executing commodity and supplier-specific strategies, negotiating pricing and contracts, and utilizing cost modeling to inform negotiation strategies. Additionally, you will collaborate cross-functionally with category managers, engineers, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to evaluate and onboard new suppliers, as well as lead strategic supplier engagement activities such as business reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in supply chain, electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering, or a related discipline, along with 3-5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, engineering, strategic sourcing, commodity/category management, supplier relationship management, or project management. Industry-recognized certifications such as PMP, APICS/CSCP, ISM/CPSM, or Six Sigma are preferred. Strong program and project management skills, effective communication and negotiation abilities, and the capacity to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels are essential. The role requires adaptability to a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and demonstrated leadership potential with a track record of high performance and readiness for future advancement.
