As an Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) at xAI, you will support the design, evaluation, and maintenance of electrical systems powering our state-of-the-art facilities. Working onsite in Memphis, Tennessee, alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to ensuring our power distribution and backup systems are reliable, safe, and scalable. This role is integral to advancing xAI's mission of accelerating human scientific discovery through AI.

Your primary responsibilities will include participating in design meetings for new data center builds and expansions, assisting in feasibility studies, and supporting the design and construction process under the guidance of licensed engineers. You will also aid in the installation of critical infrastructure components such as power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and cooling units, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. Additionally, 2-4 years of relevant experience in data center operations or electrical engineering is required. Proficiency with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and SKM is essential, as is a foundational knowledge of data center electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, generators, and UPS systems. An interest in project management and supporting large-scale data center projects will be beneficial.
