Postman is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and expand the Docs engineering team, which focuses on developing a developer-facing documentation platform. This role is based in New York City and offers a hybrid work environment. As part of Postman, the world's leading API platform, the team is dedicated to simplifying the API lifecycle and enhancing collaboration among developers.

In this position, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the execution, quality, and overall health of the team working with a TypeScript/Next.js stack hosted on Vercel. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, including writing code, reviewing architecture, setting technical direction alongside Staff Engineers, and mentoring team members. Engaging directly with customers to gather feedback and drive product improvements is also a key aspect of the role.

Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in software engineering, preferably within a startup environment, with hands-on expertise in TypeScript, Next.js, and modern frontend infrastructure. A proven track record of shipping products through collaborative team efforts, experience in recruiting strong engineers, and the ability to communicate clearly and make swift decisions are essential. The ideal candidate will be excited to remain technically engaged while also fulfilling a leadership role.

The estimated base salary for this role ranges from $250,000 to $290,000 annually, complemented by a competitive equity package. Postman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including full medical coverage, flexible paid time off, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Additional perks include wellness programs, team-building events, and a donation-matching program to support causes employees care about.

Postman fosters an inclusive and collaborative culture, valuing transparency, honest communication, and a focus on specific goals that contribute to a larger vision. The company emphasizes in-person collaboration, with employees working in the office five days a week at hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo, and London. This approach aims to enhance knowledge sharing, brainstorming sessions, communication, and trust-building that cannot be replicated virtually.
