Exceptional Designer

The Exceptional Designer role at xAI involves creating and delivering innovative consumer products across platforms like X and Grok. The designer will collaborate closely with engineering, research, and product teams to transform complex systems into simple, elegant experiences for millions of users. This position is ideal for individuals excited about integrating AI tools into the design and prototyping process.

Key responsibilities include designing end-to-end product experiences for social and AI-driven products, understanding user needs and behaviors, rapidly prototyping using both traditional and AI-assisted design tools, partnering with engineering to deliver high-quality experiences, utilizing qualitative research and product data to inform decisions, and contributing to shared design systems and product standards.

Candidates should have experience shipping meaningful consumer product features on web and/or mobile platforms, be comfortable in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, embrace new design and engineering workflows including AI-assisted tools, have a strong focus on craft and user experience, communicate effectively across disciplines, and have an interest in language models or social systems.

Preferred qualifications include a strong portfolio demonstrating product thinking and execution, experience designing consumer-facing products at scale, familiarity with modern design and prototyping tools, and experience working closely with engineers and product partners.

The compensation for this role ranges from $180,000 to $400,000 USD annually.
